Medical receptionist and administration support - parental leave cover position An exciting opportunity exists to build on your reception and administrative skills and gain experience in a senior capacity. This position would ideally suit someone with at least 12 months' medical receptionist and administrative experience. The role is full-time for four months of parental leave cover with hours of operation 8.00am to 6.00pm and no weekend work. After the four month period there will potential to extend this duration depending on performance. Our small boutique general practice is located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD and provides both standard general practice treatment and a range of specialist services. We are looking for a reliable mature-minded individual who enjoys providing patient-centred care. Essential skills of the successful applicant Minimum 12 months experience as a medical receptionist and/or administrator Ability to provide excellent patient-centred care Ability to build rapport with doctors, staff and patients Uses initiative and willing to learn Professional and well presented A comprehensive knowledge of MS Office Suite Detail-focused with a methodical approach to duties and ability to prioritise Knowledge of Best Practice and Medicare claiming The qualities we are seeking in an individual Honesty, Integrity and Punctuality Enthusiasm and Adaptability Positive Outlook Presentable and Highly Articulate Professional and Responsible Strong Work Ethic and Mature-Minded What we offer in return Small, friendly practice team Positive work environment Easy access to public transport Attractive pay rates Duties will include but are not limited to Reception – greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone in a courteous and professional manner Front desk management – overseeing smooth running of reception, ensuring in-person, phone and email enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner Scheduling and managing patient appointments Patient billing and processing of payments Monthly recall campaigns for Pap Smears, Blood Tests etc. Scheduling staff roster and adjusting doctors diary hours Stock control – ordering equipment (training provided) Assisting with accounts where necessary (training provided) Ensuring paperwork for practice policies and procedures are kept up-to-date Previous experience with medical software is desirable, however it is not essential as full training will be provided. Pay rate will be above award and negotiable dependent on experience.
