About the Role As our Director of Sales, you’ll be the driving force behind the hotel’s revenue success, turning strategy into results and inspiring your team to shine. You’ll craft and execute bold sales plans that align with EVT’s strategic pillars, working hand-in-hand with the General Manager. Team to make big things happen. A client-first mindset and communication skills that influence and impress. You’ll keep your finger on the pulse of the market, always looking for fresh ways to elevate the guest experience. Skills & Experience 3+ years in a senior sales role within hotels and a strong understanding of the Melbourne market. Proven leadership experience managing and motivating a sales team of at least 3 or more, with a focus on coaching and development. Strong track record in delivering results through strategic planning and achieving ambitious revenue goals. Demonstrated ability to manage medium to large client accounts, ensuring growth and retention. Expertise in planning and organising resources to meet deadlines and optimise performance in a fast-paced environment. Commercial acumen with the ability to identify new business opportunities, manage risk, and maximise profitability. Exceptional communication and influencing skills to engage stakeholders, negotiate outcomes, and gain buy-in. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a sales strategy that drives market share growth and commercial outcomes, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded in the CRM. Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team, keeping them informed on goals, performance, and celebrating successes. Manage tactical sales plans to maximise revenue, anticipating business peaks and troughs with a strong focus on rate and occupancy. Collaborate with Marketing, Loyalty, and Digital teams to identify new revenue opportunities and innovative packages. Influence stakeholders and resolve challenges through persuasive communication, negotiation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
