Proveda Community Volunteer - Frenchs Forest, North Shore & Northern Beaches Have you ever thought about becoming a Volunteer? Do you live in the Northern Sydney region (i.e. North Shore/Northern Beaches areas)? Proveda, a not‑for‑profit community organisation, believes that kindness and community will make a difference in many people's lives. The Northern Beaches region has a very high population of older people, people living with disability and mental illness and people living alone who need support. Our social support program aims to link individuals with suitable Volunteers. All Proveda volunteers are fully onboarded, which includes a free Police Check, and anyone over the age of 18 can be a Volunteer. Our Volunteer roles can fit around your availability and schedule. To register your interest in becoming a Proveda Community Volunteer, please complete our easy‑to‑use Volunteer Registration Form found on our Volunteer webpage (found on the Community Programs/Volunteer page of our website); the link is provided in the auto‑response that you will receive when you apply for this role online. Benefits: There are many benefits to becoming a Proveda Community Volunteer. Our current Volunteers get great satisfaction from supporting people in their local area that otherwise would be without connection or support. Proveda strives to ensure that Volunteers are supported, trained and valued as part of our Community Volunteer team. Training is provided and social events throughout the year give you the opportunity to meet other Volunteers in your community. Volunteers also receive ongoing support from our dedicated Volunteer Coordinator which enables the Volunteer to build confidence to deliver expert social care and support. Skills acquired: Communication Skills Community Development Elder Care Interpersonal Skills Teamwork Time Management Category: Community Services Commitment: Regular - less than 6 months Type of Work: Companionship & Social Support Disability Support Driving & Transportation Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: Flexible to suit your schedule.
