Application Security Engineer Location: Australia – Hybrid (Parramatta, New South Wales) Employment: Permanent – Full‑time Experience: 5+ years Key Responsibilities Lead deployment, integration, and maintenance of Snyk across APAC. Integrate security scanning into repositories (Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines. Support cloud and application security monitoring across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments. Align APAC practices with global AppSec standards and contribute to remediation efforts. Deliver AppSec training and champion secure development practices. Provide guidance on threat modelling, data protection, and application risk management. Collaborate with architects and development teams to implement secure design patterns. Skills & Experience Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or related field. 3+ years’ AppSec experience and 3+ years’ cloud security (AWS/Azure). Hands‑on experience with Snyk or similar tools (Checkmarx, Veracode, SonarQube). Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, secure coding, CI/CD security, and threat modelling. Experience with API Gateways, SIEM tools (Splunk/QRadar/AlienVault), and Agile SDLC. Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM or Microsoft Security Fundamentals. Experience with PaaS environments and technical integration planning.
