We put the customer and our community at the centre of all that we do, ensuring our services are efficient and accessible.Join our creative and collaborative team in local government as a Payroll Officer.What you’ll be doing:Receive and sort timesheets and attendance sheets in preparation for processing.Ensure all attendance sheets have been received.Ensure all pay run input is accurate, balances with batch headers and is completed within payroll time frames.Manage production and distribution of pay envelopes and attachments.Undertake import of Xpedite file into Chris21 when required.Assist with employee master file changes for general employee information.Undertake updating of employee personal details, employee personal deductions/superannuationInput of ETAG, Mobile phone, and other deductions as required.Check and input all new employee informationSetup Employees on Vision Super website for “Choice of Funds”.Ensure the accurate filing of maintenance and personnel records relating to salary rates, Long Service Leave, Annual Leave, Sick Leave, deductions and other payroll related information.Maintain and monitor register for use of machine and provide assistance to users.The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the CHRIS21 payroll system highly preferred.Demonstrated experience in a payroll environment.Be able to assist in the payroll production by receiving, checking and calculating employee timesheets, check input data and pre-payroll reports.Carry out customer service enquiries in a timely and efficient manner, and ensure external organisations requests are dealt with promptly and courteously.Ensure that the maintenance and updating of all personnel records relating to salary rates, Long Service Leave, Annual Leave, Sick Leave deductions and other payroll related information is carried out in a timely and efficient manner to the satisfaction of the Coordinator Payroll.Demonstrated ability in the use of a PC, including skills in word processing, spread sheeting and email applications, and the management of one’s own time to achieve set objectives and completion of tasks in a timely manner.Proven ability to work under pressure.To apply for this position please click in the “Apply” button below.Why Hume City Council?A leader in local government, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative work environment that is guided by our values:We’re better, every day : We give things a go and value progress over perfection.
