For this role we are looking for strengths in:• Strong interpersonal skills• Adaptable, flexible and creative thinker• Project plan and event management• Time management• Results driven• Strong work ethicYour responsibilities• Identify capable, proactive businesses in the region and provide them with information on opportunities to support growth, new investment and supply chains development.• Refer and assist businesses to programs and services to reduce their energy and emissions.• Promote supply chain opportunities, particularly in the renewable energy and resource recovery sectors.• Leverage your networks to facilitate and assist industry to connect with all levels of Government.• Delivery of industry capability webinars, regional events co-ordination and presentations.• Provide briefings, submissions, and other documentation that may be required.• Represent the department at meetings, committees and industry events as required, including building, and maintaining purposeful relationships with a diverse range of high growth businesses in Gold Coast, Logan and Redlands local government areas.• Collect local intelligence information through regional networks and connections with industry, local government, Queensland Government agencies, peak industry bodies and other key stakeholders.• Maximise local procurement on major projects by facilitating industry briefings and project forums to allow proponents to communicate project scope and tender requirements.Your teamWe want you to be a part of a team that is making a difference by leading industry development and regional programs, aligned to the Departments' strategic plan. This includes initiatives that develop and promote the international competitiveness and capability of Queensland's defence, aerospace, space, superyachts, hydrogen, biofutures, biomedical, mining equipment, technology and services, and resource recovery industries. You will be learning new stuff every day The State Development regional teams across Queensland coordinate the delivery of initiatives such as departmental programs and workshops, to link industry and regional business and grow regional supply chains and productivity. The regional teams engage with regional stakeholders and works with regional economic development partners to support and advocate for the strategic delivery of regional economic priorities. They lead place-based developments and economic and industry strategies. They are also the Local Economic Opportunities Network (LEO) representatives, and they support state and local governments in responses to adverse events.Applications may remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference:
