Project Manager (Wireless Sensor Capability Upgrade) A large Queensland Government division is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a technical improvement project focused on modernising wireless traffic sensor capability across the state’s transport network. This work will enhance the reliability, speed and quality of critical travel‐time data by uplifting data transfer processes, improving vendor‐supported integrations, and reducing configuration, latency and support issues. You’ll work closely with vendors, ICT teams and operational stakeholders to deliver a future‑ready solution and support procurement requirements for upcoming contracts. Key Responsibilities Lead delivery of the wireless traffic sensor capability improvement project and its associated work packages. Work closely with vendors, ICT specialists and business teams to clarify requirements and ensure technical solutions align with business needs. Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering to refresh and document clear business and technical needs. Maintain project schedules, manage risks, issues and dependencies, and provide accurate, timely reporting to stakeholders. Develop project artefacts including business requirements, functional specifications and procurement documentation. Support effective communication between technical teams, vendors and operational stakeholders. Ensure compliance with departmental governance, ICT frameworks and project management standards. About You You bring strong project delivery capability and experience managing ICT or technical infrastructure projects, ideally involving intelligent transport systems or device‑based networks. You can work confidently with technical specialists, interpret complex information, and convert it into structured documentation and clear requirements. You communicate effectively, manage competing priorities and maintain strong relationships across multi‑disciplinary teams. Requirements of the Role Essential Demonstrated experience delivering technical ICT or transport technology projects. Strong understanding of government ICT policies, frameworks and governance requirements. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills. Proven record of delivering projects on time, on budget and within scope. Highly Desirable Experience in intelligent transport systems, sensors, IoT devices or similar environments. Knowledge of integration, data transfer, latency, and network performance challenges. Relevant tertiary qualifications or project management certifications.
