We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Grade 1 - Diabetes to provide clinical leadership, drive evidence-based practice, and support continuous improvement across our diabetes services. In this key role, you will serve as the clinical lead, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and leading nurses across the service to deliver coordinated, high-quality, and person-centred diabetes care. You will provide expert guidance, mentor staff, and contribute to building clinical capability within the team, ensuring consistent and best-practice standards are maintained. As a senior nursing role, the CNC is responsible for fostering a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and innovation. You will lead service development initiatives, contribute to quality improvement and research, and ensure care strategies reflect the latest evidence and support optimal health outcomes for patients and their families. What You'll be Doing The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice. The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with the health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes. The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management of the care in the given specialty. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with a minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including at least 2 years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Grade 1 or above. Holds approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in diabetes education, and is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE). Demonstrated expert clinical knowledge and experience in diabetes care, including the ability to develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based care plans for people living with diabetes and complex health needs. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and effectively communicate with patients, carers, and service partners to deliver culturally responsive, person-centred diabetes care. Demonstrated involvement in clinical leadership, quality improvement and diabetes-specific service development initiatives, including contribution to staff education, professional development, or specialty-focused research.
