Our Aboriginal Practice and Partnerships team coordinates activities that aim to improve outcomes for Aboriginal clients, their families and communities. This includes informing DHS policy and practice, supporting staff who are Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal working in Aboriginal-focused programs, and providing direct supports to Aboriginal young people and their families in partnership with community. Responsibilities Leading a team to deliver a culturally responsive support, programs and advocacy service to Aboriginal children, young people and their families, who are at risk of offending, have offended and/or at risk of further offending. Providing leadership and support to MAYFS staff in effectively developing culturally appropriate early intervention programs and support services for young people and their families. Developing and maintaining partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and local community to identify issues contributing to offending by Aboriginal young people and developing diversionary local responses, particularly in high-risk locations. Employment-related Screening Check required. Some out of hours work may be required. Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required. Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C). Salary Range Salary Range: $98,478 - $104,165 (ASO6) Duration Duration: Term contract of two (2) years with the possibility of ongoing.
