Category Manager - Asset & Capability Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. About the position The Category Manager - Asset & Capability is a newly created role that reflects the growth and positive changes the procurement team are bringing to Snowy Hydro. You will join a great team and bring your experience in creating new procurement processes and systems alongside a background in assets and a strong knowledge of category management and all facets relating to a challenging and strategic position. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end development, implementation and continuous improvement of category strategies for asset investments and capital spend. Conduct analysis, forecasting and assessments to identify opportunities for value creation and cost reduction Oversee the entire source to manage lifecycle for capital spend and asset investments Identify key strategic suppliers.. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders from Exec to Engineer. Gain by-in for sourcing initiatives About the location This role can be based out of Sydney, Melbourne or Cooma and has intermittent travel. About you Significant Category Management experience, or an ability to bring your existing skills into the role Strong communication skills, both in person and presenting to groups Demonstrated experience in process improvement and implementation You’re passionate and motivated to make a difference and a change An ability to influence at all levels Strong analytical capabilities to identify trends and drive data-informed decisions.
