Technical Officer

Join our Trades & Engineering Technologies area. Full-time, ongoing position at our Croydon campus. HEW5 Level + 17% super and staff benefits. About the Role The Technical Officer is required to support a wide range of Teaching and Practical activities for the Department of Trades and Engineering Technology, assist to maintain facilities, tools and equipment for training programs. Under the direction of the department manager a Technical Officer maintains TET facilities and provides the day-to-day management of nominated workshop materials, plant and equipment. This position is broad in scope and requires a high degree of initiative and self-management to deal with the range of functions and tasks. The incumbent will work predominately in the Plumbing department initially, assisting teachers and students with equipment and materials. About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Dramatically cultural and social sensitivity and advanced cross-cultural communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and always maintain professional standards. Dramatically problem-solving skills and ability to improvise and use initiative to achieve an outcome. Excellent organisational skills, including planning and scheduling and the ability to meet deadlines to ensure stakeholders receive a quality service without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy. Dramatically confidence in verbal expression, as well as written communication and interpersonal skills. Dramatically capacity to work independently, exercising sound judgement, applying professional maturity and use of initiative to foresee and prevent potential problems.
