Role overview The Quality Officer plays a key role in supporting food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing site, ensuring all products meet the high standards expected of a leading ice‑cream producer. The position maintains the approved supplier program, conducts internal audits, oversees testing and sampling activities, and performs QC and GMP checks to uphold certification and regulatory requirements. With strong analytical, communication, and organisational capabilities, the role works closely with internal teams and external partners to manage documentation, address non‑conformances, and promote a proactive food safety culture. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Officer also contributes to third‑party audit preparedness, supports SOP development, and champions safe working practices across the facility. Hours of work: The Quality Office Role will start at 10am, Monday to Friday Key responsibilities Maintain all elements of the quality system in accordance with the relevant standards and legislation Coordinate and execute internal audits, facilitating gap analysis and closure with key stakeholders Oversee and maintain the approved supplier program Promote adherence to quality and food safety standards through effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Partner with production teams to embed quality principles and support daily operational compliance. Collaborate across teams to promote a culture of quality and safety. What we’re looking for Degree qualification in Food Science, Nutrition or similar discipline Internal auditor certification 2‑3 years of experience working in a technical role within a food manufacturing environment Basic knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (HACCP, FSSC 22000, Food Standards Code, BRC) Sound verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive and effective relationships with people from diverse backgrounds (internal and external stakeholders) Confidence to influence, engage and guide stakeholders at all levels to build commitment to quality standards Good time management and organisational skills A genuine passion for quality and food safety #J-18808-Ljbffr
