Sort It Haulage is a family-operated transport business based in Yatala, specializing in transporting earthmoving equipment and machinery up to 50 tonnes, with the capability to handle heavier loads as needed. Our comprehensive services include transporting items with tracks, tyres, or tynes, as well as other freight such as containers and palletised cargo. We have established partnerships with major auction yards in South East Queensland and provide transport services to and from Brisbane Wharves, including Roll‑On Roll‑Off and import/export operations. Our modern fleet includes various high‑capacity floats and drop decks, ensuring reliability and efficiency for diverse transport needs. Responsibilities Operate heavy vehicles to transport earthmoving equipment, machinery, and other cargo across various locations, including Southeast Queensland's main auction yards and Brisbane Wharves. Ensure safe and secure loading, unloading, and delivery of goods, adhering to relevant safety and compliance standards. Maintain equipment, plan routes, and communicate in a timely manner with the dispatch team. Qualifications Proficient in operating low loaders, quad floats, and heavy‑duty trucks, with experience handling loads up to 50 tonnes or more. Demonstrated knowledge of transport and logistics operations, including route planning, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols. Understanding of secure load handling practices, specifically with earthmoving machinery and oversized loads. Current and valid Heavy Vehicle Driver’s License and relevant certifications; experience in the transportation of specialised equipment is an advantage. Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Knowledge of local freight and transport regulations, including compliance with SWMS and insurance procedures, is preferred.
