Senior Environment Officer - Heritage Specialist (Temporary Opportunity - Up to 12 months) Transport For NSW is looking for a Senior Environment Officer – Heritage Specialist to support heritage activities within the Environment and Sustainability Branch. The role is fixed‑term, full‑time, hybrid and based at Macquarie Park. Responsibilities Work as part of the Heritage team in the Environment and Sustainability Branch, delivering expert heritage advice and project support. Guide the conservation and management of heritage‑listed places and assets throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure and development projects. Provide specialist input on projects that may impact heritage assets and help shape practical solutions that respect cultural and historical values. Collaborate across large and heritage‑rich Sydney Trains and statewide Roads portfolios on a range of projects. Develop and implement strategies, guidelines, policies, procedures and work plans to identify, manage and resolve heritage matters. Review plans, reports, assessments and provide specialist advice on works and programmes that may impact heritage‑listed places. Work collaboratively with owners, custodians and other experts to achieve sustainable conservation outcomes. Qualifications & Experience Experience in heritage across roles in government or as a consultant. Knowledge of built heritage or heritage engineering, particularly in rail and/or infrastructure, or archaeology. Ability to read technical drawings and construction plans. Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. Capacity to manage multiple competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment with excellent attention to detail.
