Sales Engineer – Workshop Fitouts & Technical Equipment Location: Sydney (regular site visits & interstate travel) Salary: $80,000 – $96,000 per year (including superannuation) Benefits: BP Plus fuel card for work-related travel, company mobile number/SIM, performance‑based commission About Us UNIPAC is a specialist in the design, supply and installation of premium workshop equipment and technical workspaces. We partner with leading brands including Toyota, Hino, Hyundai and Genesis to deliver state‑of‑the‑art, efficient and innovative workshop environments across Australia. Though rooted in automotive, we now support projects in EV, fleet, industrial, motorsport, mining and healthcare. Our small, highly motivated team thrives on collaboration, problem‑solving and engineering excellence – from optimizing workflows to managing complex installations from concept through to handover. The Role As Sales Engineer, you’ll generate and convert opportunities. You’ll manage inbound enquiries, build relationships from first contact through to scoped proposals and handover to project delivery. You’ll take ownership of smaller projects while supporting the Project Engineer on larger ones and work closely with our Design & Technical Support Coordinator. Key Responsibilities Generate new business through outbound activity (networking, site visits, outreach, referrals) and convert inbound enquiries into actionable opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in automotive, EV, industrial, motorsport, mining, manufacturing and related sectors. Prepare detailed quotes, proposals, equipment lists and bill of materials. Liaise with local and overseas suppliers for pricing, technical information and lead times. Manage procurement of equipment for projects in collaboration with admin and project teams. Support the Project Engineer on larger and more complex projects. Work with the Design & Technical Support Coordinator on preliminary layouts and documentation. Conduct site visits to understand client requirements and constraints. Occasionally support basic hands‑on work on the tools on site or in the workshop. Liaise with international suppliers, particularly in Europe, and join early‑morning or evening calls to match their time zones. Participate in interstate and international travel (e.g., Europe, Japan, SE Asia) to visit key suppliers or attend trade shows and training. About You We’re looking for someone with: Relevant experience in technical, engineering, automotive, EV, industrial, mining or workshop equipment. Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical information. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, comfortable talking to clients and suppliers. Comfortable with client‑facing work and occasional hands‑on involvement on site. Commercial awareness – thinking about margins, value, scope and long‑term relationships. A proactive, accountable mindset – motivated to build something rather than just clock in. Comfortable working with Excel and spreadsheets for quoting, costing and analysis.
