Senior Estimator

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Estimator to lead cost planning, tender preparation and estimating for commercial and refurbishment construction projects across Sydney. You will play a critical role in shaping competitive bids across new builds, refurbishments, heritage projects and interior fit outs, working closely with project and operations teams to secure profitable work and support business growth. What You Will Do You will prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, review drawings and specifications, and manage tender submission processes. You will analyse project scope, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, and contribute to bid strategies that maximise win rates while protecting margins. You will also mentor and support junior estimating staff and ensure estimating systems and processes are effective and transparent. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end estimating for commercial construction and refurbishment tenders Analyse architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, schedules and scope Prepare detailed cost build ups, quantity take offs and pricing proposals Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to secure competitive rates Identify risks, value engineering opportunities and commercial implications Ensure estimating records, databases and systems are up to date and auditable Support and mentor less experienced estimators Skills and Experience Proven experience as a Senior Estimator working on commercial construction projects Strong understanding of estimating methods, construction costs and commercial risk Proficiency in industry estimating software and Microsoft Office Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with project teams Preferred Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline highly regarded Experience with commercial fit‑outs, heritage refurbishments or institutional builds Why This Role is Great This permanent role offers a platform to take ownership of estimating outcomes, influence project success and build career momentum in a respected construction team.
