Industrial Designer

We are seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Industrial Designer to join our innovative team at ACCO Brands Australia. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in bringing our brands to life through outstanding product, packaging, and retail display design. Working closely with Marketing, Product Management, and Operations, you will develop 3D concepts, renders, and technical drawings that elevate our stationery and office products both in-store and online. About the role We are seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Industrial Designer to join our innovative team at ACCO Brands Australia. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in bringing our brands to life through outstanding product, packaging, and retail display design. Working closely with Marketing, Product Management, and Operations, you will develop 3D concepts, renders, and technical drawings that elevate our stationery and office products both in-store and online. This role is ideal for a designer who is passionate about creating functional, manufacturable, and visually compelling solutions that enhance the customer experience. What you’ll be doing Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop design briefs and translate ideas into functional, manufacturable product concepts within the required timeline and budget (where applicable). Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed technical drawings for manufacturing using Illustrator, or InDesign. Develop photorealistic renderings and visualisations for internal presentations, marketing materials, and client approvals. Design and develop creative retail displays, in-store fixtures, and stationery product stands that effectively showcase ACCO Brands products and drive consumer engagement. Create innovative point-of-sale (POS) and packaging solutions that align with brand identity, sustainability principles, and practical manufacturing constraints. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing creative and technical demands within defined timelines and budgets. Oversee all creative concepts and creation of any internal and external print, packaging, knife lines and barcodes. What we’re looking for 3–5 years’ experience as an Industrial Designer in a commercial, FMCG, or consumer product environment. Qualification in Industrial Design or a related field (Certificate/Diploma preferred). Proficiency in drafting and design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop). Experience producing technical drawings, prototypes, and documentation for manufacture. Strong understanding of materials, packaging formats, production processes, and prototyping techniques. Excellent visual communication skills, including sketching and 3D visualisation. Ability to deliver designs that balance cost, functionality, manufacturability, and brand requirements. Strong time management, organisation, and attention to detail. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for innovation and design excellence. Competent in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Valid driver’s licence.
