Provide administrative support and maintain accurate records at the Metropolitan Remand Centre, a maximum-security remand facility in Melbourne. Your Role Key responsibilities include: Greet and liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing accurate advice and information on justice services per business processes. Deliver justice services, maintain confidential records, and provide statistical reports in line with standards and procedures. Perform all administrative functions related to Records at the Metropolitan Remand Centre under supervision. Maintain professional communication with Courts, Police, Legal Entities, Government Departments, Visitors, Clients, and stakeholders. Maintain accurate prisoner records and provide routine information and advice to staff, management, clients, and stakeholders. Assist in preparing documentation for prisoner transfer, classification, release, or court appearances. Participate in reviewing, monitoring, and updating Records team procedures and practices, including self‑audits for compliance. Assist with operational processes related to prison bails, discharges, and Telecourts procedures. Prepare routine correspondence and reports. Support other corporate services functions at the Metropolitan Remand Centre as required. About You The company is looking for: Well‑developed computer literacy. Good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations. Understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records and the legal implications of court documents. Resilience, openness to new ideas, and discipline in completing assigned work. Flexibility and adaptability to develop and apply new skills. Ability to work collaboratively and support team goals. Respect for diversity and promotion of inclusion in service delivery. Customer focus with commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $60,295 – $77,430 plus superannuation. Career Progression Justice Officers may be rotated between six streams (Records, Property, Stores/Canteen, Infrastructure/Technology, Finance, and Administration) over time with support and training, providing career enhancement and operational flexibility.
