We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Planner (Infrastructure Coordination & Strategy) to join our team What You Will Do As the Principal Planner (Infrastructure Coordination and Strategy), you will play a key role in leading the preparation, application, and review of Council’s key infrastructure planning frameworks, including the Infrastructure Charges Resolution, Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP), and Infrastructure Agreements. This role is central to ensuring our infrastructure planning and charging processes are coordinated, consistent, and aligned with both Council’s strategic objectives and long‑term financial plans. You will provide expert advice across Council, guiding decisions that influence development, growth, and service delivery across our region. Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, you will shape infrastructure policy, coordinate assessments, and represent Council in key discussions with the development industry and community. What We Are Looking For Possess graduate or post graduate qualifications in town planning, civil engineering (or similar disciplines) from a recognised university or other tertiary education institution or equivalent. The ability to coordinate and prepare infrastructure related plans and policies as well as a demonstrated understanding and experience in applying infrastructure related plans and policies including, but not limited to, Council’s Infrastructure Charges Resolution, Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) and Infrastructure Agreements. A high level of knowledge of and experience in the field of town planning, governance and planning law, and expert skills in interpreting and applying planning and associated legislation. Well‑developed information technology, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with members of the public, Council Officers, and the development industry. Superior communication and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to resolve complex and technical development matters.
