Instrumental Music Teacher - BASS GUITAR Padua College is a thriving Catholic Secondary School on the Mornington Peninsula, with 2500 students across four campuses. We welcome applicants for the following positions: About the role Applications are sought for the casual position of Instrumental Music Teacher – Bass Guitar at Padua College. The role of the Instrumental Music Teacher – Bass Guitar is to work with the Director of Performing Arts to provide: Individual and small group instruction in bass guitar to students in Years 7 to 12 Timetabling of music lessons Large group work on request Assistance in ensemble management Prepare students for external examinations (Trinity/AMEB) if appropriate, to the student's level of development Attendance at Performing Arts concerts (as outlined by the Director of Performing Arts) Maximisation of students' participation in the co‑curricular and curricular aspects of the Performing Arts Department Relevant curriculum under the direction of the Director of Performing Arts Promotion of the Performing Arts life and culture of the College Support to the Director of Performing Arts in ensuring that appropriate reporting and lesson content is provided for students Demonstrated continued growth within the department Flexible teaching methods to suit individual students' needs Written semester reports using the College reporting system Support for the College ethos Other duties as described from time to time by the Deputy Principals – Heads of Campus Key Selection Criteria & Requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent Experience tutoring Bass Guitar in a school setting A valid and current Working with Children Check or current VIT registration Demonstrated high level of competence as a performer and innovative teacher – beginner to advanced level Demonstrated high quality teaching skills enabling students to reach their full potential Commitment to the development/growth in student numbers Demonstrated willingness to support the ethos of Padua College; including an active commitment to the College Mission and Vision Familiarity with and compliance with Padua College's Child‑Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Code of Conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety Familiarity with and compliance with legislated Occupational Health and Safety practices and participate in consultative processes to ensure workplace safety for staff and students Maintaining currency of all relevant legislated and required College Occupational Health and Safety modules, and all First Aid and CPR Qualifications Undertaking regular professional learning to maintain a high level of awareness of current and best practice in the major areas of responsibility associated with the role College Application Form and Role Descriptions can be obtained at the College website at Application for this position should be returned to the Principal by email to **********@padua.vic.edu.au, accompanied by full Résumé, the names of three referees and transcripts (if appropriate) by 10.00am Monday 1 December 2025.
