Senior Payroll Officer

We’re partnering with a leading engineering business to recruit a proactive and detail-driven Senior Payroll Officer . This role plays a key part in supporting a diverse workforce including trades, technical staff, site-based teams, and corporate employees. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem solving, and values accuracy above all else. Key Responsibilities End-to-end processing of weekly/fortnightly/monthly payrolls Maintaining accurate employee records and payroll data Interpreting awards, EBAs, and employment contracts Managing new starters, terminations, and employee changes Processing adjustments, allowances, and leave entitlements Reconciling payroll reports and preparing payroll summaries Responding to employee payroll queries in a timely, professional manner Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies Supporting payroll audits and continuous improvement initiatives About You Previous experience in end-to-end payroll processing Strong understanding of payroll legislation and modern awards High attention to detail and strong numerical skills Ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain accuracyStrong communication and customer service skills A team player with a proactive approach What’s on offer Reputable engineering company with strong project pipelines Supportive environment that values accuracy and continuous improvement Opportunities for professional development and system exposure Competitive salary + additional industry benefits If you’re looking to take the next step in your payroll career within a dynamic engineering environment, I’d love to hear from you.
