Social Companions Needed At Wattle Grove Location: Wattle Grove Residential Aged Care Home in Lalor Are you a fluent Macedonian speaker with a warm heart and a passion for companionship? We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to brighten the lives of older Macedonian speaking residents in our care home. By simply spending time with someone, sharing stories, enjoying a cup of tea, reading the Macedonian newspaper, or singing a traditional song, you can make a powerful difference in someone’s day. This volunteer role is all about building genuine connections through language and shared culture. Whether you enjoy casual chats, playing cards, dancing, or simply sitting together in comfortable silence, your presence alone will help create a meaningful and joyful experience for our residents. Key Responsibilities Visit regularly with at least one Macedonian speaking resident Offer companionship through conversation, activities, or cultural engagement Participate in light, informal interactions such as: Sharing tea or coffee Playing cards or games Reading the Macedonian newspaper together Singing or listening to Macedonian music Sharing jokes or dancing to traditional tunes Foster a sense of connection, inclusion, and cultural familiarity Is This You?
