Cze Do You Speak Polish? Join us at Westhaven Aged Care Community At our Westhaven Community in Footscray, we have a lovely Polish heritage resident who is in need of companionship. As a Baptcare Companion, you’ll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the wellbeing of older residents through activities such as arts and crafts, physical movement, outdoor activities, conversation, storytelling, meaningful connections. No prior experience is necessary, just a genuine desire to visit and create a special bond with an older person. Full training will be provided. Schedule When: Monday to Friday, between 9.00am to 5.00pm How often: Weekly, fortnightly, or monthly – just 1 to 2 hours can make a big difference What Kind of Volunteer Are We Looking For? Polish‑speaking to connect with our softly spoken resident Enthusiastic and kind‑hearted Caring and empathetic Flexible and adaptable to different situations Able to work independently, with a can‑do attitude Strong verbal communication skills Willingness to undergo or provide a National Criminal History Check two referees (non‑family) who can speak to your character Commitment to regular volunteering What Will You Do? Engagement activities: Reading, music, games, arts and crafts, gardening Companionship: Engaging in conversations, sharing stories, or reminiscing about past experiences Physical activities: Taking walks around the gardens, enjoying fresh air, playing lawn bowls Culturally specific support: Offering individually tailored support to enhance the wellbeing of older residents Why Volunteer with Baptcare?
