Senior Program Officer, Inclusion Salary : $113,022 - $136,747 (Plus superannuation) Fixed Term position for up to 2 years Usual hours of work : Full time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location : 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available) The Role As a Senior Program Officer, Inclusion, you will manage programs, funding agreements, provide policy and strategic advice and analysis across a range of sport and recreation initiatives to strengthen the equitable and inclusive sport and recreation sector. The role oversees a small Inclusion team and leads a range of programs and policy initiatives that contribute to the broader vision of the Participation and Sector Development unit and connects to key work units across Sport and Experience Economy to deliver on the outcomes in Active Victoria . Main accountabilities Lead, manage and support a small team to deliver a range of complex policy initiatives, programs and projects and ensure professional, timely and effective delivery. Provide timely analysis and detailed policy advice to senior leaders, members of the Participation and Sector Development unit and other key stakeholders and provide advice on best practice across a range of sport and recreation initiatives. Analyse, identify and develop appropriate strategies and guidance across a range of equitable and inclusive sport and recreation initiatives including appropriate monitoring and evaluation methods. Prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex issues. Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders at peer and senior levels to facilitate partnership approaches and deliver a range of strategic projects to ensure they align to broader government priorities. 6. Lead monitoring and evaluation activities that develop and enhance the evidence-base for initiatives delivered through Sport and Recreation Victoria. The Team The position Senior Program Officer, Inclusion will work within Sport and Recreation Victoria Branch, which sits within Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) Group. SEE is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and Tourism and Events (T&E). We deliver programs and initiatives to support positive experiences and a sense of belonging through sport, tourism and events and outdoor recreation – sectors that make Victoria a recognised leader from the grassroots level to the international stage. This is achieved by supporting the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events and the Minister for Community Sport in the delivery of sport and tourism infrastructure, and through programs and policies that strengthen the capacity of sport and experience economy organisations, reduce barriers to participation and engagement, support world‑class events, and reinforce the role that vibrant sport and experience economy sectors play in growing the Victorian economy, supporting jobs and building stronger communities. About You To be successful in this role you will have strong policy and project skills, with the ability to formulate and clearly communicate public policy options and recommendations. You'll have the opportunity to manage and lead complex projects, keeping up to date with a broad range of contemporary research and issues relating to equity and inclusion. Your budget management and financial literacy will enable you to develop and manage complex budgets, negotiating for resources, monitoring expenditure against budget projections and planning for risks.
