Expression of interest for Complaints Officer and Investigation & Resolution Officer Join to apply for the Expression of interest for Complaints Officer and Investigation & Resolution Officer role at NSW Ombudsman Expressions of interest are being called for 6 months up to 12 months Secondment Opportunities for Complaints Officers (Clerk Grade 5/6) and Investigation & Resolution Officers (Clerk Grade 7/8). This EOI is for NSW Government employees only. Role Overview The Complaint Officers receive complaints or enquiries received by the NSW Ombudsman from members of the public, people in detention or agencies, public officials reporting wrongdoing. Complaint officers undertake an initial assessment, where appropriate, engage in early resolution and provide relevant advice and assistance to complainants. Salary Range: $99,938 – $110,271pa - plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. The Investigation & Resolution Officers support the delivery of the Ombudsman’s core complaint handling function by handling assigned complaints with expertise, effectiveness, timeliness and professional objectivity. Salary Range: $113,574 – $125,720pa - plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Application Requirements A Cover Letter containing a brief statement (no more than a page) regarding your interest and suitability for the role. The method of recruitment may be subject to a suitability assessment process. Expressions of interest are to be submitted no later than 10am, Monday 1 December 2025. The assessment may be subject to a suitability assessment process and selected applicant/s will only be eligible for temporary employment/assignment. All existing NSW Ombudsman employees including temporary and seconded employees are eligible to apply. Existing employees employed on a temporary or secondment basis should note that if they are successful with this suitability assessment process, it may void their existing temporary or secondment contract and limit their employment up to a maximum period of 12 months (or less depending on their current selection status). A secondment is a time-limited movement of a government sector employee from one government sector agency to another government sector agency.
