OVIS Community Services is the primary provider of family and domestic violence services in the Peel region. Our services include crisis accommodation, WA’s first therapeutic refuge, brief intervention, case management, advocacy, and education. Our Vision - All people are safe from family and domestic violence and abuse. Our Mission - To empower people to have a future free from violence and abuse. Summary of Duties Provide an effective and timely response to Victim-Survivors of Family and Domestic Violence. Facilitate opportunities for client support or debrief when urgent matters, challenges or crises arise. Provide psychoeducation to build victim-survivor skills and knowledge in order to break cycles of violence. Ensure the support services provided are safe, ethical and in accordance with current best practice models. Maintain current knowledge of intervention models appropriate to working in a family and domestic violence, mental health, and substance use context. Participate in the development, monitoring and evaluation of service delivery and processes relevant to the role. Complete administrative duties including case note writing and service documentation. Attend Multi Agency Case Management and case review meetings as required. Support, promote and work in accordance with the Vision, Mission, and Values of OVIS and the OVIS Code of Conduct. Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment. Participate in staff meetings and training as required. Be responsible for personal health and safety in the workplace and for complying with all OVIS occupational safety and health policies and procedures, promoting and maintaining a safe and secure environment. Work professionally and collaboratively with other agencies. Other duties as directed or required. Professional Development Participate in ongoing individual and group clinical supervision. Maintain professional development through relevant education and training. Selection Criteria Australian Federal Police Clearance. Working with Children Check Australian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status. Sound knowledge of mental health assessment, risk assessment and safety planning. Experience providing client focused services to clients impacted by Family and Domestic Violence. Demonstrated understanding of issues experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills. Demonstrated experience to work independently and as a member of a team. Proven understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality Experience in education, or preventative programs and group work Personal commitment to professional development. Understanding of issues impacting people from vulnerable backgrounds including ATSI, CALD and those who identify as LGBTIQA+. Demonstrated ability to work in culturally safe and appropriate ways with these vulnerable clients.
