About the role We’re looking for a results‑driven Area Sales Manager to drive product sales with our MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) customers in a wide variety of market sectors across the VIC region. Central to the role is proactive customer engagement in the field, and a drive to identify & secure business, from both existing & new customers. Based in Melbourne and operating from our office in Burwood East, the role is well supported by talented local management & an experienced internal sales/customer service team, with product management & application engineering support readily accessible via our Sydney HQ. Core responsibilities Meet & exceed annual Sales & Order Intake targets, delivering solid year‑on‑year revenue growth Develop and grow a detailed CRM‑driven opportunity pipeline, tracking progress and driving results Maintain long‑term customer relationships, including frequent visits, networking and timely service responses Interact with organizations of all sizes, building multi‑level and cross‑disciplinary relationships Understand customers' operations and success drivers, and offer technical & commercial solutions that enhance performance, boost reliability and fully meet their needs Engage on customer pain points and develop engineered solutions to alleviate issues and improve productivity Collaborate with local and offshore product management teams to provide tailored product presentations and training sessions for key accounts Maximise sales opportunities by cross‑selling the full WIKA product portfolio Continuously develop technical and commercial skills via WIKAcademy and peer‑led training Travel regularly within VIC, with occasional interstate and overseas trips for strategy sessions and professional development Benefits and perks We offer a friendly culture and the opportunity to work within an organization in growth mode. Skills and experience Australian resident with a minimum of 5 years’ external sales experience, ideally selling industrial instruments or related technology products Experience in key market sectors such as Food & Pharmaceutical, Water & Waste Water, Oil & Gas, Power Generation Skilled in driving business growth through strategic account planning and proactive market approaches that unlock new opportunities Analytical and collaborative skills to identify new target customers and industry opportunities, and qualify them for follow‑up Ability to interpret and convert customer needs into technical/commercial solutions that meet key requirements Expertise in presenting and negotiating technical/commercial solutions, handling exceptions, and closing sales A tertiary qualification in engineering (mechanical/electrical) or equivalent industrial instrumentation experience Intermediate to advanced ERP (SAP/D‑365, etc.) and MS Office skills, with exposure to CRM strategy and use Self‑driven approach, strong focus on planning and executing day‑to‑day activities that deliver tangible revenue‑related outcomes Positive attitude and high energy levels Please Note Visa sponsorship or immigration support are not available for this role.
