About the role The Laboratory and QC Manager supports our Head of Scientific Operations and oversees the daily operation of our analytical laboratory, ensuring all testing and documentation meet GMP and regulatory standards. They lead and develop a small team, support method development and validation, and ensure the laboratory, equipment and processes are delivering best practice. Key accountabilities Lead and develop the QC lab team, currently one full-time laboratory scientist; Support the development and validation of analytical test methods suitable for our product; Manage the planning and appropriate testing across all stages of manufacturing and our final product, including documenting and reporting results; Direct and oversee all aspects of our laboratory, including equipment, operation, maintenance and inventory. Key responsibilities Ensure lab team are appropriately trained and experienced in necessary testing protocols including, preparatory techniques and appropriate methodologies, procedures and reporting standards; Coordinate the quality control testing for raw materials, in-process and finished product including data review and associated reporting in compliance with GMP and regulatory standards; Manage Stability Trials including the development of protocols, preparation and set down of stability samples; Lead laboratory investigations in consultation with Quality Assurance to identify and investigate any out of specification results; Ensure laboratory is fit for purpose, equipment is well maintained and adequate consumables are stocked; Champion a culture of safety, ensuring that all lab activities operate within Incisive OHS procedures and our QMS; Drive innovation with scientific rigour, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance our capability and scope. The ideal candidate You’ll hold an Honours Degree or above in a relevant scientific discipline and have hands‑on experience managing a laboratory and testing within a regulated environment. You bring expertise in analytical methods such as HPLC, MS, SDS‑PAGE or spectrophotometry, have experience in conducting stability testing under ICH Guidelines, and ideally have worked under ISO 13485 or similar quality frameworks. You can be hands‑on, are mature, practical, flexible, and confident leading a small team. You value high standards and enjoy problem‑solving in an environment where science meets purpose.
