To be a successful Mental Health Nurse, you will be able to promote and provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate, patient-centred Mental Health Program, and also work collaboratively with other stakeholders in Maningrida. Key Responsibilities Work within the Mental Health Program in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality prevention and treatment Provide a culturally safe, competent and comprehensive care Develop and maintain a strong referral pathway Work with the broader team including external agencies The successful applicant will have access to a range of benefits, including: Excellent salary N4 level + superannuation Fully subsidised accommodation provided Opportunity for on-call and overtime payments Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment Relocation assistance available to eligible candidates 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading Travel Allowance $4,000 per annum Retention Allowance $10,000 for each 12-months completion Work with a committed and passionate team About Mala’la Mala’la Health Service is a respected & accredited Aboriginal Corporation providing services to the seaside community of Maningrida (520 km east of Darwin), with a population of approximately 3,000 people. These services include Primary Health Care, Aged & Community Care, Family & Community Wellness, Drugs & Alcohol Services. Mala’la Health Service provides Primary Health Care services to Maningrida and surrounding homelands under a Community Control model. The role will see you working in a remote Aboriginal Community. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Aboriginal people living in remote settings. To apply, please ensure that you have the following: Current AHPRA Registration and Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse Current Remote Emergency Care Course certificate and/or Advance Life Support certificate Current accredited Immunisation certificate (recognised in the NT) Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent) Min 5 years broad nursing experience post registration and 3 years working in a primary health related field in a remote context, with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings (including the ability to triage, work independently and participate in emergency calls and First Response) Vaccination & Immunity Screening Mala’la Health Service is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and clients of our Health Care Centre.
