Expressions of Interest: Chisholm Institute Co-opted Board Member 3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Chisholm Institute is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified people with senior leadership experience in the Vocational Education Training (VET) sector, who are willing to be considered for appointment to our Board. About Chisholm Institute Chisholm Institute is established as a TAFE under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, and the Constitution of Chisholm Institute is made under the powers of the Act. In addition to being a Registered Training Organisation accredited to deliver VET, the Institute is established as a Higher Education Provider under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 and as a Non-School Senior Secondary Education Provider under the Act. Chisholm Institute is one of the largest vocational training providers in the state with a team of over 1,400 dedicated staff supporting 41,000 students who choose to study at Chisholm and training at our modern campuses across Melbourne’s southeast and online. We partner with governments, educational institutes, and businesses worldwide, sharing our expertise in vocational education. We offer over 400 courses that include nationally accredited pathways from secondary school programs and short courses, through to certificates, diplomas, and degrees. About The Board The Chisholm Institute Board is accountable to the Victorian Minister for Skills and TAFE for the effective and efficient governance of the Institute, including the discharge of its statutory functions and for the educational and financial performance of the Institute. The Board consists of ten (10) Board Members of whom five (5) are appointed by the Minister, one (1) is an elected staff member of the Institute, one (1) is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, and three (3) are Co‑opted Board Members appointed by the Board. Role of a Board Member Board Members have duties under common law and are also public officials who are required to comply with the public sector values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights. Term and Remuneration Chisholm Institute Co‑opted Board Members are appointed by the Board for up to a three (3) year term. If eligible for remuneration, Board Members will be remunerated in accordance with Board policy and the Victorian Government Appointment and Remuneration Guidelines. Qualifications Deep experience in the VET sector at senior leadership level. Experience in peak body industry engagement. A Master’s degree in Education or equivalent. Experience across other sectors such as Dual Sector / Higher Education, Senior Secondary, and relevant Government Departments. It is preferred that the appointee resides in Victoria. It is anticipated the new appointee would commence in early 2026.
