The Opportunity To support our ongoing growth MU Group are seeking Senior Structural Drafters who are looking for their next career challenge. The Role We are looking for passionate and experienced Senior Structural Drafters to be a part of our team supporting existing and upcoming projects across transport, infrastructure, commercial and industrial sectors. The Senior Structural Drafter is responsible for producing and managing high-quality technical drawings and documentation for bridges and other structural components of infrastructure projects. This role involves coordinating with engineers, mentoring cadets, and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all design outputs. The Senior Structural Drafter plays a vital role in translating engineering concepts into detailed drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards. This role requires someone that is flexible and can hit the ground running. Innovation and initiative, as well as the ability to prioritise and problem solve will set you up for success in this role. We are looking for 7+ years of experience in structural drafting roles, with a focus on bridges or infrastructure projects. Diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field. Certification in drafting software is an advantage. Experience preparing detailed 2D and 3D structural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and reinforcement details for bridges and other structures. Practical knowledge and experience in a broad range of structure types including bridges, culverts, underground structures, and retaining structures. Understanding of design and analysis of bridges and miscellaneous structures for public and private infrastructure. Ability to develop and update technical drawings based on engineer inputs and project requirements, ensuring drawings meet project specifications and comply with relevant standards. Maintain an organised database of drawings and documentation, ensuring version control and consistency. Ensure all documentation is submitted in a timely and organised manner including MU Group Transmittal documentation. Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design intent and standards, resolving discrepancies. Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as contractors and consultants, to address drawing-related queries. Strong Steel and Concrete Structures experience for Rail, Road and Pedestrian Bridges. Who you are You are an experienced structural drafter with relevant experience to excel. You are proficient in structural drafting software (eg: AutoCAD, Revit) and will utilise your knowledge and expertise to produce high-quality technical documentation. You have excellent time management and attention to detail and accuracy. You have a sound working knowledge of Australian Standards in current engineering and construction principles, methods and practices; in particular for TfNSW. You have a strong understanding of structural drafting principles and detailing standards (e.g., reinforcement detailing). You have an inclusive and flexible style and are generous with your experience, mentoring and upskilling cadets. You work collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless integration of designs.
