On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health. Fixed-term until End November 2026 Full time, 80 hours per f/n + ADO, Monday‑Friday shifts 0730‑1600 Grade 1 Administrator The Alfred Hospital location About Us Ward 7 West is a 36‑bed ward caring for patients admitted under the Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology and Palliaitive Care units. Our unit prides itself on interdisciplinary teamwork, and values the integral role our ward clerk plays in ensuring our patients receive timely quality care. Previous ward clerk experience essential. About The Role Responsible for the coordination of communication, patient services and clerical functions as directed by the Nurse Manager of designated ward or department. Word Processing (as applicable) Facilitate communication within the ward Arrange and coordinate patient services Clerical Duties Promote and maintain good customer relations with patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel. If necessary to be away from desk area, ensure the registered nurse in charge of the ward is notified. Be aware of role during emergency procedures. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. Key role in ensuring communication reaches patients.
