The Role: Disability Support Worker (Casual, Male & Female) Are you a resourceful and empathetic individual looking for a rewarding casual role? We're seeking Male & Female support workers to provide dedicated in-home and community access support during weekday/weekend shifts (including afternoons/evenings, weekends, and public holidays). You'll be supporting individuals with mental health and physical disabilities, helping them achieve their goals, build capacity, and live fulfilling lives. Your Responsibilities: Providing person-centered support for daily living activities, both at home and in the community. Supporting physical and mental health and emotional well-being. Assisting individuals with attending community-based activities and appointments. Creatively and resourcefully enabling individuals to reach their personal goals. Completing accurate documentation and reporting. What You'll Bring: Demonstrated experience in providing quality support to individuals with physical disabilities. Experience supporting clients with mental health conditions and physical disability. Experience supporting clients with mental health conditions particularly schizophrenia or complex psychosocial needs. Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act (Qld) and associated responsibilities under Treatment Authority (TA) Order in place. Able to motivate participants to go out into the community and provide social support. Assistance with meal prep, willing to do housework, community participation and transport to appointments (needs to be physically fit to do these duties) Must be able to help with creating daily tasks list (utilising white board) Able to work at least 4/5 shifts ongoing Proactive and able to think ahead Tech savvy Adaptability and strong teamwork skills. Ability to manage the physical and mental aspects of the role. A strong understanding of professional boundaries. Ideally, You'll Also Have: Experience supporting clients with mental health needs. (Schizophrenia, complex Psychosocial needs Anxiety, Depression and PTSD) etc. Manual Handling and Medication Assistance training/experience. Minimum 6 months of paid experience in Disability, Individual Support, or Mental Health. Current Manual Handling and Medication Assistance Competency Certificates. Highly regarded: Cert III in Disability or Individual Support (or higher). Current QLD "Paid" Blue Card. Current QLD Yellow Card or NDIS Workers Screening Clearance. NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificates. Current First Aid Certificate (issued within the last 3 years). Current CPR Certificate (issued within the last 12 months). Infection and Prevention and Control Certificate (Hand Hygiene) Evidence of work rights in Australia. e.g. (Passport, Birth Certificate or VISA) Current Driver License and access to your own reliable transport.
