About the Opportunity:
As Competitions Manager, you'll play a key role in the oversight and management of all NBL competitions. Reporting to the Head of Competitions and Programs, you'll be crucial in developing the competition schedule, managing compliance and addressing competition-related issues. The Competitions Manager acts as the primary liaison with club operations and supports various operational projects to maintain league standards and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for clubs on competition-related issues and regularly meet with club operations staff to discuss competition matters.
- Assist in developing the competition schedule and manage competition software to ensure data accuracy.
- Oversee the awards policy, including vote collection and trophy production, and monitor matches to address competition-related issues.
- Deliver Finals Series logistics and schedule in consultation with stakeholders and approve competition-related invoices.
- Support operational projects as needed.
- Work closely with the Compliance and Governance team to ensure non-compliance of the relevant rules, regulations and guidelines is documented.
- Manage player contracting, injury waivers, and enforcement of salary rules, and review and recommend changes to Salary and Contracting Rules.
- Liaise with NBL General Managers/CEOs on player contracting matters and prepare reports on player contracts, agent fees, and salary cap spending.

- Bachelor’s degree in sports management or a related field with 3+ years proven experience in competitions management, preferably in a national governing body or sports organisation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit and other relevant software applications.
