Head of Retail – Shape the Future of Adore Beauty’s Retail Expansion

Adore Beauty, Australia’s longest-running online beauty retailer, is making history. For the first time in our 25-year journey, we are launching a network of physical stores, and we need a visionary leader to drive this transformation.

This is more than just expanding into retail—it is about redefining the in-store beauty experience in Australia. We are looking for an accomplished retail leader to shape the strategy, execution, and success of our new store network, creating a seamless and inspiring experience for our customers.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Customer and Merchandise Officer, you will play a critical role in our retail evolution, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive success. This role offers high visibility within the business and the opportunity to shape the future of our retail presence from the ground up.

This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. As Head of Retail, you will lead the strategy, operations, and performance of our physical stores, ensuring they deliver a seamless, customer-centric experience. You will be responsible for building high-performing retail teams, optimising operations, and creating an in-store experience that reflects the authenticity and innovation of Adore Beauty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of our retail strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand identity.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing retail teams, fostering a culture of excellence and a customer-centric experience.
  • Oversee retail operations, including workforce planning, inventory management, and omnichannel integration.
  • Implement and optimise in-store activations, promotions, and engagement strategies to drive sales and loyalty.
  • Use data-driven insights to enhance performance, refine customer experience, and drive profitability.
  • Partner with senior leadership, marketing, merchandising, and store teams to ensure seamless execution and growth.
  • Drive expansion efforts, ensuring smooth store openings and optimised operational readiness.

Who You Are:

You are a dynamic and experienced retail leader with a proven ability to drive performance, build high-performing teams, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. With deep expertise in multi-site management, you understand what it takes to lead a growing retail network while ensuring operational excellence and commercial success.

You bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in retail, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the beauty retail industry.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • Proven success in driving sales growth and enhancing the customer experience.
  • A hands-on, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to manage complexity and scale effectively.
  • A strategic and solutions-oriented mindset, capable of navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Exceptional people management skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and mentor retail teams.
  • A passion for beauty and retail innovation, with a continuous drive to elevate the in-store experience.
  • The flexibility to travel as needed to support store openings, team development, and operational success.
