Make or Buy as one of the strategic support pillars for our strategy 2030 enables our entire organization to ensure sustainable growth and profitability in balancing our global plants capacities with large outsourcing volumes.


In the new shaped Make or Buy process you identify current and future demand for capacity adaption and manage all identified cases through the whole process from detection to evaluation and decision, as well as tracking of relocation until serial implementation - you will act as a project manager and lead a cross functional team.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize, prepare and conduct the monthly Make or buy Councils in the Regions (decision making / tracking)
  • Organize special Make or Buy councils resulting from strategic or PDP (PALFINGER Development Process) cases
  • Identify demand for capacity balancing and work out alternatives with the plants and Procurement
  • Conduct non financial and financial evaluation for identified alternatives and prepare decision
  • Coordination and tracking of relocations to the suppliers till sustainable serial supply
  • Recurring screening of our global production portfolio and deriving potential volumes for strategic partners based on the SEP (Strategic Enterprise Planning)
  • Elaborate proposals / decision demand on future strategic setup for the quarterly Make or Buy Committee (top management)

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in either/or: Mechanical / Manufacturing / Project Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Economics
  • Alternatively economical education with a good technical understanding relevant industrial experience may compensate for lack of formal education
  • Project Experience in a manufacturing environment (project lead)
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, used to work in crossfunctional / international teams
  • Strong understanding of sourcing processes (experience in outsourcing appreciated)
  • Deep understanding of calculation and cost impacts
  • Thinks strategic and over the long term
  • Business fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel globally, focus on Europe (app. 10%)

Minimum gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 46.346,72. We are willing to overpay according to training and qualification.
