About the role


As Access Leads Neurology Austria you will reinforce the local team to grant access for patients to new assets and ensure maintenance of optimal conditions of price and reimbursement for products already listed.

To meet this objective, you will demonstrate a holistic understanding of the Austrian healthcare system and the implications for a specific asset / indication and build adequate pricing & reimbursement strategies, develop business cases, and prepare robust value dossiers for HTA authority/sick funds.

In collaboration with internal stakeholders and thanks to a strong External Engagement you will be able to identify risks and opportunities and propose innovative solutions.

With the right skills and experience you will have the opportunity to over time also take on top of Access Lead Neurology responsibility the role of "Gewerberechtlicher general manager" in Austria.


Who you will work with:


In this role you will work in collaboration with medical / business / regulatory / supply / market access teams on local Alps / ABN- level and with market access / pricing teams on regional and global level to have all aligned information/approvals needed for reimbursement processes or pricing strategies.

You will be the point of contact for National Payer / sick funds to coordinate and process requests of listing for defined products in agreement with business teams / Delegation of Authorityprocess.

On top of this you also will collaborate with local across functional teams and contribute with External Engagement initiatives that can help generate access to our medicines and value for patients.


What will you do:

  • Ensure local market access by developing strong strategies that integrate scientific data, ecosystem, regulations, business objectives, risks and opportunities & provide recommendations
  • Generate and compile required evidence for an asset / indication (epidemiology, disease burden, unmet need, budget impact)
  • Preparation of robust local value dossiers, pricing analysis (incl. business cases) and tailor local reimbursement label in line with Global strategy
  • Manage reimbursement dossiers submissions (timelines, requirements, documentation and internal approvals, coordination with teams and interactions with consultants)
  • Create an active external engagement with payers, when possible, access decision makers, sickfunds (mapping, meetings, material development). Secure insight from KOLs, patients' associations, registries on current clinical practices to understand positioning of UCB solutions.
  • Lead negotiations on reimbursement & price with payers and key accounts. Attend all relevant meetings with pharma association, follow the political & health care environment trends to anticipate regulations evolutions and their impact on UCB business.

Interested?
For this position you'll need the following
education, experience
and skills**:

  • At least 5 yrs. of successful experience in market access with ability to adapt in country the global strategy. (incl. track record in HTA dossier preparation & reimbursement approvals)
  • Master's degree in Health/Life Science, with as a plus a background in Health Economics or an MBA,
  • Ability to understand complex scientific data, convert them into a strong Payer Value dossier
  • Knowledge and experience of the Austrian health care environment / reimbursement system and their implications for a specific asset / indication is mandatory
  • Solid negotiations skills
  • Crossfunctional team player able to build up a network with all relevant stakeholders, to ensure a good collaboration in a matrix organization in order to achieve market access goals
  • Bring an innovative, positive and agile approach to new access & pricing solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to articulate information in a clear, inspirational manner.
  • Business orientated with entrepreneurial mindset and handson mentality.
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English
  • Having already the certification for "Gewerberechtlicher general manager" in AT would be a plus
  • Experience in rare disease, in early access programs development would be an asset.
