We are seeking an Access Lead in Austria who is passionate about improving patient health results and is driven to develop innovative solutions to join our outstanding Alps Benelux Nordic (ABN) Access, Pricing, and External Engagement (APEX) Team based in Austria.

About the role

As the Access Lead in Austria, you will enhance the local team's efforts to ensure patient access to new and existing treatments, as well as maintain favorable pricing and reimbursement conditions. You will need a comprehensive understanding of the Austrian healthcare system, develop effective pricing and reimbursement strategies, and present compelling value propositions to payers. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and leveraging strong external engagement, you will identify opportunities and challenges to propose innovative solutions.

Who you will collaborate with

In this role, you will work closely with medical, commercial, regulatory, supply, market access teams at local and regional levels. You will also engage with market access and pricing teams globally to ensure alignment on reimbursement strategies. Additionally, you will partner with cross-functional teams locally and contribute to External Engagement initiatives that facilitate patient access to medicines.

What you will be responsible for

  • Develop robust strategies aligning UCB guidance, scientific data, local regulations, and risks to ensure local market access
  • Collect and compile evidence for specific treatments
  • Coordinate internally to execute market access plans smoothly
  • Engage with payers, key decision-makers, and health funds to negotiate reimbursement terms
  • Collaborate with key opinion leaders, patient associations, and registries to understand clinical practices

  • Experience in market access and the ability to localize global strategies
  • Proficiency in German and English with excellent communication skills
  • Background in Health/Life Sciences and preferably Health Economics
  • Ability to interpret complex scientific and economic data into compelling local value propositions
  • Knowledge of the Austrian healthcare environment and reimbursement system
  • Team player with the ability to network with stakeholders
