About the role:

Associate Expert Science & Technology(f/m/d), Kundle, Austria, #LI-Hybrid.
We require an Associate level Downstream Processing Expert to plan and perform scientific experiments (or pilot plant processes) for the preparation and timely delivery of drug substances (DS), drug products (DP), processes and procedures in collaboration within a multifunctional project team coordinated by a Project leader and to contribute to maintenance of lab instruments/infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performance of chromatography, cross flow filtration and membrane separation methods (e.g. tangential flow filtration) for purification of recombinant proteins as part of process development and characterization at laboratory and pilot scale
  • Documentation of the studies in electronic documentation systems according to defined standards
  • Provide raw data documentation, evaluation and results interpretation. Propose and provide input for the design of next experiments.
  • Responsibility for equipment calibration and qualification
  • Contribution to technology transfers to internal and external sites and the active transfer of procedures /instructions to pilot plant or production, including troubleshooting, process steering controls etc.
  • Evaluation of new technologies and equipment for automation of laboratory activities
  • Support the organization of the laboratory and to generate lab procedures, reports and /or instructions and/or Standard Operating Procedure's
  • Successful execution of assigned tasks within given timelines at expected quality; right first time & right in time.

Role Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Apprenticeship in industry (or equivalent technical education as chemistry HTL, CTA, BTA or MTA) and ideally practical experience/professional experience in purification development or protein analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of, or practical experience with laboratory tools especially HPLC
  • Experience in Downstream Processing in particular with chromatographic systems
  • Knowledge and experience of software tools e.g. Microsoft software tools, electronic lab book etc.
  • Fluency in German and English

Desirable requirements:

  • A personality with a cando mentality and the ability to adopt to change with strong communication across organizational interfaces
  • Ability to work with a crossfunctional team in a matrix environment

For this position the minimum salary is € 40.960/year (on a full time basis). We also offer a potential market oriented excess payment in line with your experience and qualifications.
