ContourGlobal is an established Independent Power Producer developing, acquiring, and operating electricity generation assets worldwide. The company currently manages more than 6.2 GW of installed capacity across different generation technologies in 18 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America. With a current share of renewables capacity of 27%, the company has committed to speed up the decarbonization of its portfolio with a sustainable transition of its thermal fleet, the repowering of existing renewable assets and the organic development of new renewable projects. ContourGlobal, a KKR company since 2022, has a track record of almost 20 years of experience in partnering with communities, institutions, and customers that benefit from its power supply through long-term contracts or innovative PPAs, coupled with energy management solutions.
We are seeking a Vice President M&A Europe to join our global power generation company and help us grow into the future. Your mission is to apply your analytical skills to gain a deep understanding of our business and projects providing reliable analysis and recommendations thus driving the success of these projects from beginning to end while relying on our established foundation of continuous improvement. Our Vice President M&A Europe is a unique, highly challenging, yet tremendously rewarding role. Are you ready to take on the challenge?
The responsibilities:- Lead the analysis of M&A transactions and manage transaction work streams, including valuation, due diligence and creation of investment memorandums. This includes also assessing qualitative criteria of potential transactions and implementing those meaningfully in the analysis.
- Manage due-diligence activities, including coordinating the work and milestones of external parties and the internal team assigned to the deal.
- Be fully responsible for the valuation process, including the preparation of financial and dividend discount models to assess individual projects.
- Prepare compelling investment memos that concisely show key risks and value drivers and become the basis for equity investments.
- Support internal processes for the transaction assessment and approval, including the preparation of presentations and memorandums for the Investment Committee.
- Manage and guide analysts or other junior team members.
- Originate transactions and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to develop a growing pipeline of potential opportunities.
- A Vice President with proven experience in closing and originating transactions in the energy industry.
- Skilled at providing investment analysis quickly and with clarity.
- Skilled at preparing compelling materials describing a transaction and value drivers and then presenting with clarity to the executives at ContourGlobal in high-pressure situations.
- Eager to work in a lean and flat organization and have the interpersonal skills to manage horizontally within the company and on transaction teams.
- Deeply interested and intellectually curious about energy and financial markets.
- Enthusiastic about contributing to a fast-growing, hardworking and dynamic organization.
- Flexible to travel when required for a transaction.
- 6-8 years of experience at a financial institution or strategic company working on energy or infrastructure investments.
- Fluent in English. Any additional language is a plus.
- Willingness and interest to travel as required by the role.
- Excellent academic qualifications preferably with a master's degree in finance or business.
