Introducing Truyu

We are a pilot digital protection tool created by x15ventures, CommBank's corporate venture scaler. Our mission is to empower every Australian to be in control of their identity and reduce the financial, emotional and social impacts of fraud.

During the pilot, when an identity check occurs in your name, Truyu will alert you a majority** of the time. Our current coverage extends to over 60% of all ID checks conducted at merchants across Australia.

In the event of identity misuse, Truyu provides helpful links and remediation prompts to understand how you may re-secure your information as efficiently as possible and avoid additional harm or loss.

We will also alert you if your email addresses have been exposed in a data breach and provide proactive guidance to enhance your online security.

x15ventures is wholly owned by CommBank so your identity and personal details are in good hands. All data is encrypted and stored safely in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Product Officer (CPO) (or an ambitious experienced Senior Product Manager) to join a newly formed venture within x15.

The CPO role crucial - you will help shape and deliver the direction and ultimately, proof of concept that will be released to the market in early 2024. Reporting to the Venture Managing Director, you will design the product experience and stages of development to deliver a product that exceeds customer needs and expectations. To achieve this, you will be engaging closely with our team, potential customers and partners, as well as key CommBank stakeholders to clearly understand customer needs and have an informed opinion on the market we are entering into to identify unique opportunities to grow our business and succeed in our early validation targets.

Your team

The team have been working together since November 2023 and are growing. This is a four to six month opportunity to step into the Chief Product Officer role covering parental leave. This role is part of the venture's leadership team and reports directly to the Venture Managing Director.

This role is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for product and design, and will play a key role in leading customer service, operations and marketing work. In addition to excellent product and people skills, we are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and be involved in all areas of the business, including marketing, customer service and operations. The venture is expected to be live in pilot by the time you join the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Product strategy and vision - Be the product thought leader, defining and ensuring exceptional delivery against the product roadmap tightly aligned to realising the venture's vision. Obsess over the customer, getting into the detail to build a first-in-market solution that defines the category. Act as a customer advocate, representing user interests and ensuring that the product meets or exceeds customer expectations. Test concepts in market in quick iterations, rapidly evolving the product toward product-market fit with well-established feedback loops. Work closely with design and engineering to translate learnings into product improvements.
  • Team leadership - Build and lead high-performance product teams. Provide mentorship, guidance and professional development opportunities to team members and share your knowledge and insights with other x15 ventures.
  • Insights and Reporting - Monitor product performance and ensure reporting of key performance metrics (product, technology, marketing, operations) is shared with key stakeholders. Monitor customer outcomes and clearly measure value created by the product for customers. Define key performance indicators and track product metrics to identify areas for improvement. Use data to make informed decisions and iterate on the product strategy.
  • Delivery - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage priorities and ensure product development is on track. Drive product from concept to launch, caretaking all aspects of product development whilst operating in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, startup environment. Communicate progress and roadblocks clearly and effectively to the wider team (venture and x15). Accountable for managing the venture's Delivery Pathway to effectively manage risk in change. Identify potential risks and challenges that could impact product development and mitigate proactively. Ensure the product is compliant with all regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Go to market strategy - Execute on the go-to-market strategy in deep collaboration with stakeholders and key partners with a laser focus on acquiring our first cohort of customers. Continue to iterate and refine the go-to-market strategy from insights and analytics collected from customer and product, including the future business model to launch into the most promising market opportunities (B2B, B2B2C etc) aligned with x15 objectives.
  • Stakeholder engagement - Effectively communicate the product vision, strategy and progress to key stakeholders and executives. Be the champion of your product and venture, while demonstrating visible in-market thought leadership in frauds and scams.



What you'll need to be successful in this role:

  • 6+ years' experience as a Senior Product Manager or Head of Product in an Agile environment
  • You are an outstanding communicator who can translate quantitative and qualitative data into customer outcomes
  • You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy variety in your work
  • You have experience in go-to-market
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment (early-stage startup is a plus)
  • You have experience building digital products in identity, security, and/or frauds and scams prevention
  • Experience with mobile-first product development
  • You are a passionate leader who enjoys motivating teams to reach key milestones and ensure product development remains on track
  • You possess a passion for strategy and planning and can bring key stakeholders on your journey
