Australia’s largest member owned organisation seeks an Employee Relations Partner to join their P&C team on a 12-month fixed term contract covering parental leave. Work for one of Australia’s most loved and trusted brands supporting people leaders with a diverse range of Employee Relations issues.
Reporting to the Employee and Industrial Relations Specialist, this role will require human-centred thinking and the ability to comfortably go between general IR advice through to complex investigations. The role will play a pivotal role in providing first line support with general advice around policy and entitlements through to complex case management.

What you will bring to the role
  • Demonstrated deep understanding and working knowledge of the Modern Award system, National Employment Standards, and other related legislation.
  • Demonstrated prior experience managing employment matters such as disciplinary action, restructures, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer centric advice and influence outcomes through effective communication.
  • Formal qualifications in HR / IR or Law are highly regarded.
Your responsibilities will include.
  • Provide timely advice in response to queries in relation to policy and people leader support by providing options and recommendations balancing commercial needs with best practice.
  • Advising, interpreting, and applying legislation, awards, agreements, and policies.
  • Become a trusted support partner to our people and people leaders, making complex workplace regulations easy to understand and implement in their business.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances in conjunction with BP Partnering teams as required.
  • Provide guidance and support to key stakeholders on employee relations issues, including employee / industrial relations matters, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Effectively manage workplace grievances, conducting workplace investigations as required. Ensuring a fair and consistent process.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to empower leaders in the areas of performance improvement, providing and facilitating effective employee feedback.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors in handling disciplinary actions, performance management, and termination processes.
  • Prepare and present thorough reports for senior stakeholders Divisional Support
  • Provide support on EA negotiations with contributions to bargaining meetings, documentation, and approval processes.
  • Provide due diligence support on M&A targets and undertake transfer activities upon completed deals.
  • Work with people managers within the function to implement key annual people activities such as DE&I initiatives, Blueprint, talent reviews and salary reviews.
  • Work with Safety and Wellbeing to identify relevant issues and seek their expertise in the resolution of these matters.
  • Partner to deliver the Your Voice surveys, interpret results, present these to business leaders and work with them to create real actionable plans.
