Join the IOR team and be an integral part of our exciting growth We are seeking a passionate, energetic and results driven Business Development Manager for the region of Victoria, based out of our office at Truganina, Melbourne. 

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and building strong relationships with high potential clients. You will proactively seek out and engage with prospects, develop tailored sales strategies, and effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services at IOR.

The Role:

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by actively engaging with leads and qualifying opportunities
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand client requirements and customize solutions to meet their needs
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services
  • Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for both the company and the client
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly reports as directed by management within agreed timeframe

Skills and experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and grow relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • High levels of self-motivation and initiative
  • Capacity for informed decision making and problem solving
  • Experience within the fuel industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful sales strategies and plans
  • Demonstrated ability in achieving sales targets and growth
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively both in a team environment and as a self-starter
  • A commitment to positive working relationships and our ways of working
  • Strong CRM and relation business management IT skills eg. Zoho, Microsoft Office Suite

IOR Pty Ltd is part of the privately owned IOR Group of companies which has been active in the petroleum industry for nearly 40 years. IOR is a vertically integrated fuel group, with interests in oil production assets, a crude oil refinery in far western Queensland and a fuel distribution network of depots and diesel truck stops throughout regional Australia. In addition, IOR runs an equipment rental business. We are committed to our local communities and having a local team.
