About the role: 

As the Head of QA, you ensure all relevant processes and operations are executed to a high standard of quality and safety, end to end. This includes evaluation of the operation from materials / packaging receival through to the storage and despatch of finished product to customers. The Head of QA reports directly to the senior management team. 

  • Lead and manage a QA team and all associated functions in this operation with a focus on adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • Oversee and conduct end to end quality and safety inspections of the total operation (from production through to dispatch). This includes sampling/testing of product, checking of documentation, the set-up process, equipment, finished products and more.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive quality management system. 
  • Ensure product release and investigations occur in a timely manner.
  • Oversee and conduct internal audits and external supplier audits as required. 
  • Oversee and conduct the inspection of quality documentation as well as the actual materials/packaging and goods received from external suppliers.
  • Report and manage safety incidents and concerns to the Safety Committee and ensure that safety guidelines and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure continuous improvement by identifying emerging trends, technologies, and best practices and incorporate into operations, where applicable.
  • Oversee continual updates and improvements to Product Information Sheets (product dossiers) for all products, ensuring these are current and correct before each production run.
  • Provide guidance to effectively resolve deviations and out-of-specification results and work closely with other departments in developing plans for investigations and corrective actions.
  • Handle customer complaints, liaise with external suppliers, perform necessary investigations, prepare CAPA, NCRs and deviation reports as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG Manufacturing in Quality Assurance is required. 
  • > 2 years QA Management experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields is preferred. 
  • Proven experience in GMP, Quality systems management, microbiological testing methods and WHS / Safety is required.
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise and communicate with all levels of staff within the company with regards to Quality standards and issues that may arise. 
  • Strong scientific and practical judgement

Full time – Permanent.

Our typical operating hours are 7:00AM - 5PM typical operating hours, for instance a typical shift would be from: 8:00AM – 4:30PM. There are occasionally overtime/weekend shifts. Attractive salary would be offered to the right fit, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Must have full Australian working rights

The manufacturing site is in Cromer 2099, Sydney. Proximity to our site will be strongly considered. It is advantageous to reside no more than 45 mins from the site.
