The COO is responsible for providing effective oversight of the operations and performance of the Competitions Department, the Marketing & Communications function and the Referees Manager role.

Working closely with and reporting into the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO will be responsible for collaborating to deliver the NSFA Strategy, as well as ensuring the efficient running and growth of the Winter and Summer Football season competitions.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Effective oversight of the operations and performance of the Competitions Department, Marketing & Communications functions and Referees Manager role
  • Collaborate to achieve the NSFA Strategy
  • Review and implement new competitions and initiatives
  • Assist the CEO with office operations and the implementation of the broader NSFA Strategy for 2024-26
  • Oversee the development and execution of tasks from the Competitions, Marketing & Communications and Referee Manager staff
  • Oversee high delivery of competition fixtures in a timely manner
  • Ensure high quality communication on all competition matters
  • Ensure data analysis is provided regularly on NSFA members and Competitions to identify trends, opportunities and causes for concern
  • Ensure training and support on PlayFootball matters, via NSFA Competitions Coordinator
  • Support other Competition staff in the formation of NSFA Rules and Regulations
  • Oversee the operations and growth of NSFA Summer Football Competitions
  • Provide successful competition management, allocation and strategy to ensure the best football experience for members
  • Review & Update the NSFA Facilities projects tracking
  • To project manage and identify strategic facilities developments and improvements within the NSFA
  • Successfully manage NSFA Staff, including Marketing Manager, Competitions Department Stafff and the Referees Manager
  • Collaboration with Clubs to understand micro and macro facilities developments
  • Collaboration with Councils to understand their growth areas and requirements
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
