We are looking for a Group Account / Client Director to join the BAYLY PR Team on a six-month maternity leave contract, as our Founder excitingly prepares to welcome her first child. This role will take the lead in the day-to-day operations of the agency, fusing an exciting mix of team leadership as well as client liaison and management, providing insight, ideas and strategy to a diverse portfolio of clients. 

This role will work closely with the Operations Director and Agency Founder (during her Mat Leave) to take a senior oversight role for the agency. 

This role is perfect for someone looking to take the next step in their career, to springboard into a more senior role and take on a new challenge after spending least 12-24 months in a Senior Account Manager / Account Director role or similar. You must be a confident communicator, team leader and project manager. Previous experience managing both team members and clients is essential. 

As a senior member of the agency, you will provide account direction for projects which involve various communications, PR and social media elements. You will represent the agency professionally with clients and media, as well as potential new business targets. You must have specialised skills and knowledge across PR, social media, communications, media relationships, and emerging industry markets, offering clients the right solution to their briefs, developing robust strategies, and ensuring deadlines are met.

With the exciting growth of the agency, there is definitely opportunity to extend the contract past the initial six month contract for the right fit. 

Typically, in this role you will:

  • Provide strategic counsel to a range of clients around earned and owned media
  • Develop innovative campaign strategies for our clients and oversee their delivery
  • Contribute to new business and client growth to help drive the financial performance of the agency, in line with our business development incentive program
  • Think creatively about how to get results 
  • Manage the strategic implementation for a portfolio of clients, efficiently and within budget
  • Lead and oversee a team to implement client strategies, ensuring delivery remains on track
  • Partner with clients to understand their feedback and measure results against their expectations
  • Foster team growth and mentor junior members into solid practitioners
  • Oversee project management plans, budgets and timelines
  • Ensure that reporting and administration for specific client accounts are completed in a timely manner
  • Oversee project timelines and client WIPs
  • Support the wider team with new business proposals, brainstorms, and pitches
  • Positively contribute to BAYLY PR’s culture.

  • Experienced in managing a diverse client portfolio
  • Natural leader who is a team player and drives culture
  • Channel agnostic thinker who can work with multiple agency partners
  • Brings creativity and smart thinking to take client campaigns to the next level
  • Excellent understanding of earned and owned media channels and the ability to craft strategies that deliver strong results
  • Works quickly and manages deadlines without any issues
  • Can inspire, motivate and collaborate with internal and external teams
  • Can write pitch winning new business presentations
  • Excellent client management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team of comms professionals
  • At least 12 months’ experience in a similiar role
  • Experience in the Australian lifestyle PR and media environment, including the ability to confidently pitch to media
  • Experience or an interest in retail, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, hospitality, tourism and arts sectors
  • A fun, sociable personality with the natural ability to communicate with a range of people
  • A resilient, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small, but cohesive and supportive team
  • A degree in Communications, PR, Marketing or Business (highly desirable)
  • A good sense of humour (essential for when things go a bit pear shaped…)
  • An interest in working in a small but mighty team that wears many hats, and celebrates shared success.
