The position is responsible for providing high level communication advice and contributing to the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communication services for Multicultural Affairs Queensland. This involves developing communication material that promotes key programs, initiatives, services and events.

Senior Communications Officers have expertise in undertaking a range of marketing and communication activities including: development of content for print, electronic and online distribution; speechwriting; advertising; sponsorship management, and digital and social media activities.

As the Senior Communications Officer you will:
• Plan and manage integrated marketing and communications campaigns and plans, consistent with the respective departmental strategic plans and priorities.
• Research, write, develop and edit a range of materials, including speeches, publications, advertisements, brochures and web content in line with the department's style guide.
• Develop and plan the delivery of internal and external departmental sponsorships.
• Event management.
• Develop and implement strategies and activities for delivery on social media channels.
• Lead, plan and implement high-level, inter-departmental environmental projects determined by government priorities.
• Maintain current knowledge of latest trends and best practice in the area of marketing and communications.
• Prepare reports, briefs and other correspondence for internal and external audiences.

This role has no delegations.
