The Aurenne Group is a private company who acquired the historic Mt Ida - Bottle Creek gold field, 80 km west of Menzies in 2019.

Last mined by Norgold in the late 1980’s and following extensive resource definition drilling from 2017, a successful PFS and DFS was achieved. Constructed by GR Engineering Ltd in April and commissioned in May 2023, the newly constructed Mt. Ida Gold Processing Plant is a 1.5m tpa CIL plant.

Sure, the mining industry is strong in Western Australia – but finding the right people fit is no easy task.

The Role:

We are seeking to employ a suitably qualified Gold Room Supervisor /Process Trainer & Assessor to join the processing team. This dual role is responsible for the daily operation of the elution's concentrated gold recovery plant and equipment. This role will also be in charge of the coordination of training & assessing, performance of personnel, and ensuring that process related production targets are achieved safely for the Mt Ida Gold Project. The processing plant runs at approx. 230 Tonnes /hr and we are looking to optimise the gold recovery process. This position is based on an 8:6 roster at our very comfortable and new village. FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie. This is for an immediate start.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising operational areas, CIL carbon movements, elution & carbon regeneration, electrowinning & gold room, other areas as directed by the Processing Superintendent.
  • Ensure self & team personnel’s compliance to site policies, standards, procedures and rules.
  • Identify and address gaps in skills flexibility for Process team members.
  • Ensure Process team members are informed, made accountable and given authority to succeed.
  • Support the training and development of Processing team personnel.
  • Develop & implement the site training management process.
  • Assist with all matters relating to safety systems
  • Carry out VOC assessments, minor training presentations, schedule approved training.
  • Develop, review and update Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
  • Ensure data entry and record keeping is completed accurately and timely.
  • Utilization & compliance with site safety program.
  • Supervise safe & correct operation of allocated light vehicles and mobile equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain operational record & log sheet systems for ensuring plant information is available for tracking and optimizing performance.
  • Ensure compliance to operational strategies that balance plant throughput, gold recovery, available stocks, operating costs and impact on equipment to maximise return on investment.
  • Monitor equipment performance & report deficiencies via the electronic maintenance management system (EMMS).
  • Coordinate with maintenance daily to ensure weekly schedules are completed & contribute to planned plant shutdown.
  • Driver’s license (C Class, manual car) and mobile plant operation exposure
  • Cert IV – Training & Assessment
  • Minimum 10 Years mineral processing experience with 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Experienced in Gravity concentrators, Acacia reactors, Elution circuits, Electrowinning, smelting & barring processes, bullion handling & security standards
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate competence in MS Office suit (Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Individual and team building skills
  • Cert IV – Front Line Management
  • Certificates – FEL/ITC, Skid Steer, Confined Space & Atmospheric testing, Safe Work at Heights
  • Startup & commissioning experience
  • Operation of Pronto and People Tray
  • Full Australian working rights
  • National police clearance in line with gold industry standards.
