Our client seeks aSenior Contracts Administratorto join theirPerthteam, on offer is an initial 12 month contract.
As aSenior Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for administration of one or more subcontracts of unlimited dollar value to ensure that subcontractors meet Company and project requirements fully. Broad experience, particularly in subcontracting activities typical to the environmental/engineering and construction industry, and an ability to negotiate subcontracts effectively, is required. A willingness to travel to the subcontractor's facility when necessary, is required and computer literacy.
The role responsibilities include:

  • Senior level position with advanced knowledge and a specialized depth or breadth of expertise, gaining a mastery of a single areas or multiple broader areas of specialization.
  • Identify, solicit and select reliable contractors to supply consultant, speciality and construction services to support project execution.
  • Negotiate terms & conditions, prepare contracts, monitor contractor performance and delivery of services to meet objectives. Provide agreed approvals and supporting documentation for payment of invoices to ensure the required services to Worley and its clients.
  • Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Broad duties assigned at beginning of projects. Work is assigned in terms of objectives, relative priorities, and critical areas that impinge on work of other units. Work is reviewed to ensure policy conformity and soundness of approach. Informed guidance is available.
  • Plans and conducts and may supervise work of self and others. Should be able to lead project teams. May participate in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Should be able to lead functional project teams. May have direct reports. Will typically assign activities and regularly give job-related guidance to department staff as a senior advisor.
What you’ll have
  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong ability to Inform and persuade on complex matters through preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations and reports, as well as collaboration with stakeholders and management.

Responsibilities

  • Providing HSE leadership to ensure the safety of employees and contractors while protecting the environment.
  • Delivering project management activities: early studies, engineering, operational readiness, construction, commissioning, and handover to operations.
  • Set and maintain project budgets and schedules to meet internal and external commitments.
  • Engage and manage engineering service providers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Prepare, review, and issue tender documentation.
  • Source, procure, and engage suppliers and specialized subcontractors.
  • Create and maintain project documentation in the different phases to meet Kitimat and Atlantic operations requirements.
  • Engage and manage area stakeholders to ensure alignment and the best solution is selected and implemented to meet the business requirements.
  • Preparing presentations to investment committee and participating in investment meetings.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote teamwork, excellence, and team engagement.

Qualifications

  • At least 15 + years of experience in construction/industrial environment.
  • A proven track record of site management with safety, customer service, and financial responsibilities.
  • Sound understanding of project controls and project reporting requirements.
  • Managed 5M to 20M+ million-dollar multi-discipline projects.
  • Experience in managing and delivering capital brownfield projects from concept to close-out.
  • Proven commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of the organization’s policies and standard practices.
  • Exposure to the Company project management framework is advantageous.

Work Schedule
  • Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week.

This role will see you working for a major EPCM in the mining space, for a Tier 1 mining client
Your day to day will look like:

  • Ensuring planning & scheduling for projects comply with company standards.
  • Liaison with the Project Manager, design team, operations, service providers & other contractors on an ongoing basis.
  • Advise, assist and support Extension of Time Claim delay analysis as requested by the Project Management teams.
  • Design all project schedules and ensure integrity of data in all project life cycle.
  • Work with the construction and project manager to monitor project works to identify and immediately act upon any areas of programme slippage in conjunction with Project Teams.
You will need to have:
  • Primavera P6 knowledge and experience essential.
  • Experience working on an EPCM environment essential.

  • Strong analytical, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately calculate construction costs and analyse risk.
