**SUMMARY**:
This position will be the primary technical liaison for all services work in country with multiple diverse customers. It is anticipated that this role will work closely with Bechtel in-country and out-of-country Business Development to pursue opportunities in the Plant Support Services space, in particular works with ongoing LNG customers, including the emerging market of Energy Transition and Carbon Capture Technologies

Outside the box thinking and strategy will be required to expand Bechtel’s offering not only to the existing customer base, and also expand our Services into new customer spaces and technologies. While a strong technical base is desired, it is just as important that this position accept the ways in which Bechtel is structured from a technical perspective, with the individual capable of parsing out technical issues and reverting back to the home office / technical SMEs as we shape a variety of scopes and broaden our capabilities in the Australian Market.

Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines) on several small or medium sized projects for the global business unit. Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project. Possesses technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments. Facilitates conversations more broadly through the study phase to the quantification and development of executional opportunities in the EPC phase.

Supervision Received
- Receives operational supervision from a Project Manager.
- Receives administrative and technical supervision from an Engineering Manager, Manager of Engineering or a senior Project Engineer.
- Liaises with In-Country Management and outside Business Units as it makes sense to do so.

**Supervision Exercised**:

- Coordinates the work efforts of the engineers of all disciplines and architects assigned to the project or portion of the project.
- Scope dependent, may supervise a small team of engineers, procurement and construction professionals as the various scopes of work may require.

**Contacts**:

- As the point of Bechtel-Client contact on Engineering and Technical aspects of assigned project or portions of a project, maintains regular client contact for progress of work, exchange of information, advice.
- Represents Engineering in respect of major items with suppliers and project personnel in jobsite conferences.
- Represents Bechtel Plant Support Services and the LNG Business line in a number of judicious conversations and direct customer interaction with both established and non established customers.

**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES**:

- Seeks and develops new scope opportunities in country, utilizing ongoing relationships with customers and building new relationships with customers in this space.
- Understands and implements Bechtel Plant Support Services strategies in the LNG Space and further refines our offering to appeal to our Australian customers as the need arises.
- Directs and coordinates engineering activities for the projects or assigned portion including supervision of engineers of all disciplines within a global business unit.
- Establishes or assists in establishing the detailed project execution plan and the development of the overall project engineering budgets and schedules. Provides inputs to and owns the engineering elements of a project capital estimate (proposals and execution) quantities and budgets.
- Develops design and procurement schedules for approval.
- Prepares, approves or recommends approval of project procedures for engineering, as required.
- Coordinates engineering effort with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) and Project Controls.
- When assigned directs engineering activities in preparation of project proposals, including estimates for engineering staffing, quantities, scope reviews, schedules and coordination with Business Development and other functional groups.
- Provides inputs to staffing decisions and feedback on performance appraisals.
- Reviews and approves design documents, change orders, material requisitions and specifications for construction or procurement use.
- Supervises the preparation of, reviews and endorses bid analyses and recommendations for procurement of equipment material and services within Engineering’s scope of responsibility.
- Resolves field-initiated questions on engineering.
- Visits jobsite as required for exchange of information.
- Coordinates activities among the design groups on the project.
- Initiates requests for specialized professional services.
- Initiates Bechtel/Client correspondence related to the engineering portion of the contract.
- Reviews project engineering progress against approved schedules, evaluates changes and takes corrective action when required.
